DESCRIPTION:On Thursday\, May 30th\, 2024 \nFunmike Empowerment Foundation brought a wave of joy and relief to the St. Thomas Anglican School in Ososa\, Ijebu Ode. \nThe foundation\, driven by compassion and a vision for a better future\, inaugurated a new borehole water project\, a gift from its founder\, Miss Oluwafunmike Esther Salami \, as a heartfelt birthday present to herself. This selfless act continues her enduring tradition of giving back to her community in meaningful ways. This heartfelt initiative\, marking her birthday\, addressed a 16-year water crisis. \nThe spark for this transformative project ignited when Miss Oluwafunmike Esther Salami accompanied her esteemed mentor\, Honourable Adeola Azeez\, Co-founder of WIMBIZ and founder of the Adeola Community Care Foundation\, on an empowerment initiative in Ijebu Ode. \n \n

SUMMARY:FUNMIKE EMPOWERMENT FOUNDATION VISIT TO HEART OF GOLD HOSPICE HOME.
DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, April 13th\, 2024. The Funmike Empowerment Foundation embarked on a heartfelt mission to extend their support to the Heart of Gold Hospice Home\, located at Onilegogoro Bus Stop\, 75 Alh. Masha Rd\, Surulere\, Lagos. Accompanied by a dedicated team of 10 volunteers and 4 team members\, we carried with us essential items to uplift the spirits of those under the care of the hospice.\n\nOur contributions were as diverse as they were  ranging from baskets of fresh fruits\, a bag of rice\, cartons of biscuits\, drinks\, cheese balls\, peanuts\, to cartons of Golden Morn cereal\, among other essentials. Each item\, carefully selected\, aimed to provide comfort and nourishment to the residents of the hospice\, who were primarily abandoned children grappling with various mental and physical disabilities.\n\n\n\n\n

The day was filled with joyous activities such as games\, talenthunts\, and entertainment by a DJ. \nMedical consultations\, HIV Tests\, Hepatitis A and B Tests\, Blood Sugar level Tests\, Blood Pressure Tests\, free Over-the-counter medications\, Eye Examination\, and free Glasses were provided\, addressing the health needs of the underserved community. \n

Free medical consultations covered essential health checks\, aiding early detection and providing advice on community health issues. \nNutritional Assistance: Recognizing the significance of nutrition\, the foundation distributed over 200 food supplies to adults\, aiming to support family well-being and alleviate some of the economic pressures faced by community members. \nRecreational Activities for Children: The event offered fun activities for children\, like ice cream and a bouncing castle\, creating joyful memories and connecting them with the foundation. \nImpact and Future Prospects: The Ajegunle back-to-school outreach highlighted the power of dedication\, community involvement\, and targeted support\, improving the lives of 800 individuals.

DESCRIPTION:The founder\, Oluwafunmike Esther Salami\, announced the scholarship beneficiaries on April 7th\, 2023 in Lagos\, in the presence of Ambassador Afolabi Oke and many others. \n  \nThe beneficiaries are Adeyinka Olufemi Benjamin and Shittu-Are Atinuke khadijat to study in Federal/State Universities in Lagos\, Nigeria. \n \nAdeyinka Benjamin is currently in the University of Lagos studying mechanical engineering\, while Shittu-Are Atinuke just gained admission to the Lagos State university. \n  \nAdeyinka Olufemi Benjamin\, the spirited youngest son of the Adeyinka family\, embarked on his academic journey with a notable milestone\, graduating from high school in 2019. Demonstrating resilience and determination\, he earned admission in 2021 to the prestigious University of Lagos\, Nigeria\, where he delves into the complexities of Mechanical Engineering. Benjamin’s passions extend far beyond the confines of his studies; he is an avid gamer\, an enthusiast exploring the frontiers of web3\, a skilled drummer\, and a connoisseur of diverse music genres. His distinctive outlook on life is a harmonious blend of technological innovation and creative expression. \nHis association with the Funmike Empowerment Foundation has been transformative\, significantly easing his educational path while simultaneously unlocking a wealth of opportunities. This engagement has enriched his academic and personal development\, propelling him into arenas within and beyond the academic world\, where his unique blend of interests and skills continues to flourish. \n \nShittu-Are Atinuke Khadijat\, currently in her first year at Lagos State University Ojo\, is embarking on a journey towards a degree in Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management. With a keen interest in UI/UX design complementing her academic pursuits\, Atinuke embraces a life enriched by her dedication to an insatiable curiosity for new knowledge\, and the joy of connecting with people from all walks of life. Her unwavering commitment to excellence acts as a beacon\, guiding her path through life’s journey. \n  \nGraduating from high school in 2018\, Atinuke holds the position of the youngest child to her mother and the fourth among her late father’s eight children. Despite her burning ambition to advance her education\, financial hurdles forced her to delay her dreams for five years. It was during this period of waiting that the Funmike Empowerment Foundation emerged as a beacon of hope. By the grace of God\, the foundation extended its support to promising students like Atinuke\, playing a pivotal role in transforming her aspirations into reality. This support not only underscores the foundation’s commitment to nurturing potential but also marks the beginning of Atinuke’s journey towards achieving her educational and professional goals.

We also offered critical health services such as HIV tests\, Hepatitis A and B tests\, blood sugar level checks\, blood pressure monitoring\, and distributed free over-the-counter medications. \nOur outreach efforts aimed to address a broad spectrum of needs within our community. We successfully distributed food and educational resources to children\, young adults\, and senior citizens. Additionally\, we facilitated essential health services\, including HIV\, Hepatitis A\, and Hepatitis B tests\, as well as monitoring blood sugar levels and blood pressure. Complementing these services\, we provided free over-the-counter medications at YANA CHARITY EVENT. \nBy catering to nearly 700 people\, we made a meaningful impact. Our support extended to diverse age groups\, including children\, young adults\, and senior citizens. We prioritized health by offering crucial tests for HIV\, Hepatitis A\, Hepatitis B\, along with monitoring blood sugar levels and blood pressure.
