He’s a 400lv/ Pathpharm Medical Student of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, University of Benin. He’s 20 years old. He decided to pursue medicine primarily inspired by his Mother, who despite her Lack of a proper education, always encouraged him to move forward and work hard. He is also inspired by Poets and Novelists such as Benjamin Carson, Nina Simone, Nelson Mandela and so many like stories that encourage him to fight harder for his dreams. He gained admission in 2021, immediately after passing the Joint Admission and Matriculations Board Exam, with a Score of 322. He was 15.
He currently is preparing for his Pathology and pharmacology examinations and is doing the work to earn as many distinctions as he can. He loves Video essays, stocks and Finance investments, Female Poets society and not very frequently- chess. He is an ambivert, with good people skills, communication skills and a well read public speaker. Above all else, he wants to impact society and make his Mother proud.
He became a Funmike Empowerment foundation Scholar in March of 2025, after applying earlier that year. On receiving the congratulatory email and officially becoming a scholar at the awarding ceremony in May, his academic journey has been better than ever. He’s participated in virtually workshops and one on one sessions which help offer insights into his education, been sponsored financially by the foundation and even awarded gifts by the founder, Miss Oluwafunmike Herself, who is his mentor and muse, as she too came from tough circumstances and through it all, became a beacon of hope and light to others. He says it best “ the Funmike Empowerment foundation changed my life, and my mom’s by taking a Bet on my dreams and investing in my future, I’m forever grateful”.
